In what is quickly becoming a tradition for BookAclassic we took part in another fantastic motor show this weekend. This one was particularly special as it took place on one of London’s most famous Roads – Regent Street!
Pedestrianised For Classics
In what was a truly family-friendly affair the iconic street was pedestrianised from Piccadilly Circus all the way to Oxford Circus and was full of a whole range of attractions with the highlights ranging from a ridiculous collection of supercars to more than 100 pre-1905 horseless carriages which chugged their way into London from all over England. In what seems to be a staple for a motor show these days, the DeLorean ‘time machine’ was joining the street straight from the Back to the Future film-set, complete with gull-wing doors and flux capacitor, however most BookAclassic fans will be all too familiar with this considering we have the largest collection of Deloreans online ;).
Bye Bye Miss American Pie
The 2018 edition of the motor show saw it partnering with the state of Illinois to celebrate Route 66 and American motor culture. What an opportunity therefore for us to exhibit one of our finest “specimens”, a beautiful 1954 Chevrolet Bel Air. Needless to say, it had people swooning over it all day and it was great to chat to people about a true American classic. The show was a huge success and no doubt we will back again even bigger next year, for more info on the show please click here.
Movember Foundation
The Movember UK charity has gone from strength to strength in recent years and it is no surprise that they had a strong presence again this year. With a fantastic experiential stand where you could race on the Top Gear track, they were also giving out free shaves so this was a very popular stand indeed. We were lucky enough to partner with Movember this year and had our stand next door so it felt great to support such a great cause, for more info about the charity please take a look and donate if you can
