Boycie's V12 Jaguar E-type goes under the hammer

A Jaguar that starred in the second ever episode of Only Fools and Horses is expected to fetch up to £85,000 at auction on September 3, writes Ed Wiseman. Yuppie car salesman Boycie made his debut on the long-running programme in Go West Young Man in September 1981. In it, he had recently purchased a V12 1973 E-type Series III and ill-advisedly lent it to Del Boy and Rodney for safekeeping.

The pair are rear-ended in it by a faulty Ford Cortina that they had sold earlier to an unsuspecting buyer. However, no Jags were hurt in the making of the programme – the ‘accident’ was staged using television trickery.
