What do you think of this wide-body Ferrari 488?

If you have an FXXK-shaped itch that you couldn’t scratch the first time around – all FXXKs sold out pretty quickly, remember, though you might be lucky enough to pick one up second hand – then this might interest you.

It’s the work of Los Angeles tuner Misha Designs, and follows the company’s “very successful” Ferrari 458 wide-body kit. It is a Ferrari 488, um, wide-body kit.

Two versions of this Ultra488 are available: regular and limited edition. Regular is regular, really: a new front bumper, bonnet, side skirts, air intake covers, rear bumper and a small spoiler. They’re all mounted on the factory points, replacing factory panels without actually modifying the car.

But you don’t want a regular 488 kit, you want a 488 XXL, with all the trimmings. And a shake.

The limited edition version gets an even more aggressive front, with an F1-inspired nose and huge double splitter carbon lip. There’s even exposed carbonfibre across the bonnet.

Swing around back, and you’ll spot that FXXK-inspired bumper, carbon diffuser and wing. It’s 3in wider on the rear quarter panels, too.

There are no power gains, though with a twin-turbo V8 pumping out 661bhp and a 0-62mph time of just 3.0s as standard, it’s plenty fast enough.

Misha Designs tells us it is building just 20 of these limited edition wide-body kits for the 488, ready for delivery in April/May.

Reckon the standard, factory-fresh 488 is svelte enough, or does the idea of a bewinged, FXXK-inspired wideboy tempt you?
