1961 MG Mga

Introduced in 1955, the MG MGA featured a newly designed chassis and a pontoon-style body inspired by the MG TD Le Mans race car. This example is finished in Iris Blue and features a manually retractable black soft top, matching side curtains with sliding windows, and a cockpit tonneau cover. Additional exterior equipment includes a replacement MGA chrome contour grille, a chrome trunk-mounted luggage rack, and chrome front and rear bumpers with bumperettes. The cabin presents red leatherette upholstery along with a matching center armrest, door panels, and dashboard. Accessories include bucket seats, red carpeting, a dash-mounted rearview mirror, a map light, and door-panel storage pockets. A lacquered wood steering wheel is mounted on an adjustable steering column and frames Jaeger instrumentation. Power comes from a 1.6-liter inline-four engine equipped with dual SU carburetors, driving the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual transmission. The car features independent front suspension with coil springs and hydraulic dampers, rack-and-pinion steering, and braking provided by front disc and rear drum brakes.
