1980 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ45

1980 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ45 truck — I searched high and low for this one and finally picked it up from Hastings. It was in great condition when I bought it, and I've kept it honest ever since. Under the hood is the original 2F 4.2L engine; it sounds grunty and solid. The exhaust used to hang off with a bit of No. 8 wire (a funny relic) but I've since side-dumped the exhaust for a cleaner look and better flow. It still feels like a proper, no-nonsense Land Cruiser — simple, dependable, and not precious. This is the sort of classic truck that draws a crowd wherever you park it. My favorite thing is coming back to the FJ45 and finding someone my age or older staring at — sometimes practically licking — the windows.
