1947 Ford Mercury Eight Convertible

Since 2026
1947 Ford Mercury Eight Convertible — a proper post-war American convertible with the long, low styling you expect from the era. We call him Buddy; we found him at an auction and discovered he'd been imported to France in 1947. We drove to France, loaded Buddy onto a trailer and brought him back to Wales, where he’s been part of our vintage outings ever since. What makes Buddy special is how authentic he feels — the American lines, chrome, and the look straight out of Karate Kid or Grease. He’s a head-turner at vintage fayres and local shows, and people still stop to admire the bodywork and period details. Mechanically he’s a usable classic for short runs and events; he’s been maintained for reliability but this is a classic car, not a modern daily driver. Buddy is great for weddings, parades, vintage fairs, and photo shoots. If you’re thinking of hiring him, message me with the date and purpose so we can talk logistics, insurance, and pickup. No smoking in the car, please. Hope Buddy brings a bit of old-school charm to your event.
