1956 Austin A50 Cambridge

This 1956 Austin A50 Cambridge is a typical 1950’s middle class family car and one of only around 40 surviving from many thousands built. It is in excellent condition both mechanically and bodily. The exterior is still in its original duck-egg blue with cream wheels and the interior still includes the original blue leather seats and is unrestored but in excellent condition, still with its old-fashioned leather smell!. It has never had and still does not have seat belts. This is perfectly legal. The 2 front "bench" seats and the column gear change hark back to the 1950's. The original 1500cc Austin engine has recently had a new water pump to minimise risk of overheating in traffic (typical with old cars!) and a new dynamo to ensure that the battery remains well charged. It is a joy to drive. I bought it because my father had one absolutely identical in every respect which was our family car when I was growing up. I then learned to drive on it 54 years ago and took it to university at Exeter!. I found this one 15 years ago languishing in the corner of an old garage, rather unloved and uncared for. I then brought it back up to its current excellent full working order.
