1957 Mercedes-Benz 190sl
The iconic 190sl is the little brother to the then fastest production car in the world, the iconic 300sl Gullwing. It was was massive hit when launched in 1954 and in production from before being succeeded by the 230sl Pagoda. In essence, the birth of the SL started with this car. Finished in a luxurious Mercedes Ruby red metallic and cream leather, the car literally stops people in their tracks ! Available on request. Famous owners from the 50s include Sophia Loren and Grace Kelly , driving Frank Sinatra in this model. If you have an event that needs to evoke the 1950s and early 60s , this car will help , especially with the original fitted luggage ! Mainly used in film and photo shoots, Ruby is also available for special events, Weddings and Proms.
Provenance & History
Ruby was imported to British Colombia, Canada in 1957. In 1997 she returned to Scotland where she was on display for 5 years in the Grampian Motor Museum under ownership of Sandy Delgardo. From there she was brought to England in 2019 and I acquired her the moment i saw that amazing colour combo and drove her ! That was in 2021. Since then she has had over £20,000 spent on recommissioning and refining including a complete engine rebuild. Her most notable accessory is the only known original set of Karl Baisch fitted luggage in the UK according to Mercedes Benz Club UK
