1960 MG A Roadster 1600

1960 MG A Roadster 1600 in British racing green with a tan interior — a two-seat roadster set up in competition spec. I bought this one after it failed to sell at auction; it was the cheapest in the country at the time, and I ended up restoring it myself. The car started life red with black interior (red piping), but I rebuilt it to period competition standards and changed the color to green over tan. The restoration includes the mechanical changes for the competition feel, tightened suspension, and period-correct trim where I could source it. It drives like a properly sorted 1600: lively, direct steering, and you feel every corner coming through the chassis. It’s the kind of classic car rental people pick for spirited coastal runs, vintage events, or a distinctive wedding exit — I drove back from my own wedding in it and still smile thinking about that ride.
