1968 Austin Mini Moke
Stephen M.
Since 2021
This is 'Morris' an iconic British Mini Moke in original condition with spruce Green livery and No 'boy racer' additions. Ideal for period film and television productions. Identical vehicles can be seen in The Avengers (Driven by Diana Rigg and Linda Thorson) but the Moke's iconic appearance was in Patrick McGoogan's The Prisoner. This particular Moke has been used in a number of TV shows filmed in Portmeirion (Where The Prisoner was filmed). Celebrity Mini Moke owners included Diana Rigg, Jackie Kennedy and Aristotle Onassis (Who drove from their wedding in a Moke identical to this), Brigitte Bardot and Princess Margaret. Originally designed by Sir Alec Issigonis as the 'Army Mini' it was soon re-purposed as a pocket-money utility vehicle and during the 1960s and early 70s Mokes could be seen on farms, golf courses as well as the high street, used as delivery vehicles. Mini Mokes are also associated with 'Hippies' and 'Carnaby Street' and can be seen as the chosen vehicle of the trendy set in films such as Catch us if you Can (1965), Crossplot (1969) and Carry On Camping (1969). They were also used as camera cars for the classic Girl on a Motorbike (1968) and Alfie (1966). Mokes are also the chosen run-around for James Bond villains and are seen in most of the 60's and 70's Bond Movies. This classic vehicle is being offered for use in period TV and Film productions. The owner/driver has many years working in the industry. One note of caution; This Mini Moke is in its original, factory specification so there is a canopy to shade you from the sun but no side screens. So, What happens when it rains? You get wet! But that's the joy of Moking. (The owner driver is based in Liverpool but the vehicle is usually garaged near Sheffield)
