I picked this one up in London; the previous owner drove it back from Thessaloniki, Greece, where it had spent fifty years as a family car and then received an extensive restoration. That history shows in the details: chrome wheel hub caps, the four round headlights up front, and the simple, uncluttered cockpit. What I love about it is straightforward – the colour, the way the seats hold you like a glove, the sound of the engine and that particular old-car smell. It’s lightweight, direct, and easy to place on a winding road; some of my best drives have been through the South Downs and late-night runs around Soho.
