2023 Tesla Model Y Performance SUV, owned from new. It's a practical everyday EV that also has the kind of acceleration that surprises people — quick off the line and deceptively planted through corners for an SUV. The car is well cared for and maintained by me. It has the Performance upgrades, low miles for the year, and all the usual Tesla features: Autopilot hardware, large central screen, and long-range electric driving. It's understated in appearance but a beast if you want to race lights or pass on a hill. My favorite run was up the coast on the Isle of Man, then over the mountain sections that follow the TT course — excellent handling and instant power made that drive memorable. No smoking, please.
