1992 Lotus Esprit Turbo SE Highwing

Launched in 1991 this is a super rare, 1 year production run, version of Lotus's iconic Esprit model. Not even Lotus know how many were produced, but it's believed to be less than 100 worldwide. It's production run even ended before it could receive an official badge designation which is why it has since become known amoungst Esprit fans as the mythical "Highwing" for the rather obvious reason of the massive wing on the back (the only Esprit wing to ever actually generate any downforce). Highwings were only available in Lotus's top of the range SE "Special Equipment" specificiation that saw them coming with a vast assortment of upgrades including: burr walnut dash, full leather interior, air conditioning and glass "lift out" roof as well as numerous additional features specfic only to the Highwing model that made them more accomodating and aerodynamic than all previous models. The car was lightning fast for it's time, thanks to a pioneering Chargecooled Turbo Engine that saw it beating all its contemporaries to 60mph - including the Ferrari Testarossa, and even today it thrills with an enormous wave of turbo boost kicking in at 3000rpm. This example is in near concours condition. It was discovered in a garage where it had been parked for 12 years and has since been lovingly recommissioned by it's current owner over the past 5 years. It's a car that guarentees attention, admiring glances and plenty of smiles wherever it goes.
