1965 Morris Mini Moke
PRO OWNERIntroducing 'Jennifer', an original English-built 1965 Morris Mini Moke Mk 1 that has been meticulously restored to become one of the finest surviving examples of this iconic British classic. Following an extensive 'nut and bolt' restoration completed during 2023–24, 'Jennifer' combines period authenticity with exceptional craftsmanship, outstanding presentation and mechanical reliability. Beautifully presented and meticulously maintained, 'Jennifer' is equally at home at prestigious motoring events, weddings, promotional campaigns, retail displays and period film or television productions. Wherever she appears, she attracts admiration and leaves a lasting impression. Originally conceived by Sir Alec Issigonis as a lightweight military vehicle, the Mini Moke instead became one of the defining symbols of the 1960s. Its unmistakable design, minimalist engineering and open-air driving experience have earned it an enduring place in motoring history. Of the approximately 14,500 Mini Mokes built in Britain, only around 10% were sold on the UK market, making original English-built examples increasingly rare and highly sought after. 'Jennifer' is powered by a spirited 998cc Mini Cooper engine, offering performance well beyond the original specification while remaining entirely sympathetic to the character of the car. The result is a wonderfully engaging driving experience that perfectly complements the Moke's timeless charm and unmistakable personality. The Mini Moke has enjoyed an extraordinary cultural legacy, appearing in more than 70 film and television productions. It featured in four James Bond films—You Only Live Twice, Live and Let Die, The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker—as well as Carry On Camping, Emmanuelle and the iconic television series The Prisoner starring Patrick McGoohan. The Moke has also been associated with many of the defining personalities of the 1960s, including The Beatles, The Beach Boys and The Dave Clark Five.
Provenance & History
'Jennifer' is an original English-built 1965 Morris Mini Moke Mk I, with her provenance independently authenticated by a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Production Record Trace Certificate. Factory records confirm that she was built on 6 January 1965, dispatched the following day and supplied as a right-hand-drive Home Market vehicle to Wadham Holdings Ltd of Southampton. Originally finished in Spruce Green with Green trim, she was first registered as CTR 566C on 18 March 1965. During 2023–24, 'Jennifer' underwent a comprehensive nut-and-bolt restoration by Crafted Classic Tuning, restoring her to an exceptional concours standard. Every aspect of the vehicle was meticulously rebuilt whilst preserving the character and integrity of the original Moke. She was sympathetically refinished in Snowberry White, an authentic BMC factory colour introduced for the Mini Moke Mk II (1967–1968), complemented by Green trim, creating a timeless appearance that remains entirely faithful to the heritage of the model. To enhance both performance and usability, 'Jennifer' was fitted with a lively 998cc Mini Cooper engine, delivering significantly improved performance whilst remaining true to the spirit of the original vehicle. She was also fitted with a new set of period-correct Dunlop SP44 Weathermaster tyres, exactly matching the original factory specification recorded on her British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Production Record Trace Certificate. The restoration represents a substantial investment in craftsmanship, engineering and attention to detail, resulting in a beautifully presented and highly usable classic. Combining verified factory provenance with concours-quality restoration, 'Jennifer' has been personally invited by the Chairman of Salon Privé to participate in the prestigious Salon Privé Concours Owners' Experience at Blenheim Palace in September 2026, reflecting the exceptional standard to which she has been restored. More than simply a beautifully restored Mini Moke, 'Jennifer' is a carefully preserved piece of British motoring history, restored with authenticity, integrity and an unwavering attention to detail. Equally at home at prestigious motoring events, weddings, promotional campaigns and film or television productions, she offers a rare opportunity to experience one of Britain's most iconic classics at its very best.
