The Mercedes 450 SL was the poster car of my 1970s dreams - elegant, confident, and impossibly cool. Twenty years ago, I finally got one, and it has been making me smile ever since. These days, my happiest drives are along Cape Town’s coastal roads with someone special beside me, the roof down, the ocean glittering, and our favourite music playing. Some cars take you from A to B. This one turns every drive into a memory.

We hired Chris's classic Mercedes-Benz through BookAclassic for our son's matric dance in Paarl, and it was worth every rand. From the first email Chris was easy to deal with — quick, clear and flexible on timing, and he offered to let us leave our own car safely on his property in Camps Bay while we had the Mercedes. The car itself was immaculate and turned heads the whole evening; our son arrived in style and the photos are something the family will keep forever.
