1937 Packard 138CD Limousine

This is Birdie. She is a 1937 Packard 138CD Limousine that can accommodate up to 6 passengers, five in the back and one up front with the driver. This is an authentic Great Depression era limousine with divider window between the driver and passengers. The car has been restored, but retains its original engine, drive train, suspension, brakes, accessories, and a time-period correct interior. Being all original means that there is no A/C, but windows may be opened in warmer weather. Also, there is an original working heater, but it does not produce the heat of modern cars. Time period correct blankets will be provided to keep you warm in colder weather. I have driven the car in cold weather and have not had a problem with staying warm. It’s all part of the authentic 1930s experience. One modern upgrade is that two seatbelts in the front and two in the back have been added. Provisions for USB phone charging are also provided. This is an excellent choice for a wedding, festive event, or period production movie or photos. The rear passenger compartment is very spacious for wedding gowns and formal attire. As your driver, I will do my best to provide a great experience. Birdie is very special to my family. My dad purchased her when he was 19 years old in 1960. She was the only car my parents had when they got married in 1963. You can see how she looked at their wedding in the photos. She rolled off the assembly line in late January of 1937 and was originally sold out of the Reid-Ward Motor Company in Kansas City that following July, so she has spent her entire life in the Kansas City area. Due to the special nature of Birdie, I will not bring her out if there is a high chance of rain, snow, inclement weather, or temperatures over 90-95 degrees. If the weather forecast looks like it may be a problem, I will contact you as soon as possible, including up to the day of the event to discuss with you. If the booking needs to be cancelled due to weather, YOU WILL BE REFUNDED. No food, drink, or smoking will be allowed in the car and I ask that any throwing of rice/bird seed etc…be done away from the car. I will gladly provide a “tour” of the car if desired, but ask that you allow me to open the hood, trunk etc... In warmer weather you may open or close windows as needed.
