1979 Triumph TR7
Purchased by my father in 1983, it was driven only casually for the majority of the 20+ years that he owned it. He finally sold it me in 2008. I stripped the entire car down and cleaned it. Applied Dynamat soundproofing to the entire vehicle. Re-wired the entire vehicle from front to back (successfully!), and I'm now in the process of taking care of the engine, trying to avoid a rebuild. Car runs well after it's warmed up, but it definitely does not like stop and go traffic. Tends to flood out and stall. I'm sure a good carb adjustment would greatly help. As of Fall 2018, car has new battery and starter. Starts right up and can be driven daily, though it does need a little bit to warm up. It needs some TLC though. Top needs to be replaced, seats need reupholstering, exhaust needs to be replaced soon, Front shocks are gone, and possibly some front wheel bearings or ball joints. 5-speed trans and clutch are original as far as I know, and could probably stand a rebuild in the future. Body is practically rust free ad needs only very minor body and paint touch-ups.
