This 1937 Ford Model 77 is a straightforward, no-frills stake-bed truck from the final year of Ford’s heart-shaped grille and side-opening hood. It’s got that unmistakable old-school look that still turns heads, even if it doesn’t try too hard. Born in the Midwest, this truck spent its early years working farms around the Ohio Valley—back when trucks were tools, not toys. It was later restored by a local hardware company that shared its birth year, keeping the original spirit alive while swapping in a Chevrolet 350 engine, 400 transmission, and Ford rear end. “Built Ford Tough with Chevy Guts” fits just right. My father, a lifelong ’37 Ford owner and enthusiast, picked this one up for town parades after selling off two delivery sedan projects. He only got to drive it once before passing, but it meant a lot to him—and it still carries that sentiment today. It’s a simple truck with a long story. Chris and his 1937 Ford were amazing for our trip. Aside from the fact that it’s a true headturner (seriously, I’ve never had so many people waving, giving thumbs up with excited faces, or simply staring at the car with a big grin as we pass each other. The car has some great modernizations that add comfort and don’t take away from the classic look. The air conditioning works like a charm, the backup camera helped manage the unfamiliarity of the car, and the seats were very comfortable. The car is also automatic and easy to learn. I’m so happy that Chris made this car available to us and am excited to share the photos from our trip.

Chris is was an AMAZING host. He was so kind and considerate through all aspects of my rental of his gorgeous truck. His vehicle helped make my wedding day extra awesome. This truck was the chariot my bride and her father drove up to the isle. We were able to make it the backdrop of us walking up the isle, and our super cool get away truck. This truck doesn’t have a bad angle anywhere. Chris was responsive and gave us all the information we needed to have a smooth and easy rental. I would give him 10 stars if I could! Highly recommend. You won’t be disappointed.
