NIGEL Simpson runs his eyes over his charges. There are 29 in all – perfectly turned out, highly polished and beautifully presented, despite some nearing pension age.
He stops at the Austin-Healey and pauses before moving on – clearly a favourite. But it’s hard to choose one from among these magnificent machines now on display in Glasgow.
Nigel is boss of Peter Vardy’s Heritage Sales Centre and his passion for everything to do with the classics is evident. He said:
“We don’t just look at a classic and add it because it would be a good thing to sell. “We want the cars to have that heritage behind them, a history, otherwise it is just a car you could buy anywhere. It has got to have a background to it so we can say that it is a special car.”
