New Award To Crown "Best Of The Best" Of Classic Cars
There are dozens of notable classic car shows held around the world–each with their own “best of show” winner–but a new award may have the final say.
The new Peninsula Classics Best of the Best Award, will be granted to one winner from 2015 classic car shows, such as Royal Concours of Elegance, Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, and the sponsor’s own event, The Quail.
Finalists up for the inaugural trophy range from early production vehicles, such as the 1932 Isotta Fraschini Tipo 8A S Sport Cabriolet, to 1960s Italian race cars that include the 1968 Alfa Romeo Tipo 33 Stradale. Selecting the “Best of the Best” is up to a panel of 24 judges with distinguished careers in the automotive industry, such as General Motors GM +0.89% former executive design director Anne Asensio, BMW Group former design chief Chris Bangle, and Jaguar Cars design director Ian Callum.
