James Bond is a man famed for his automobile love. Over the past 50 years, Bond’s cars have continued to impress all who see them. From futuristic gadgetry to beautiful lines, the list is hard to whittle down, but alas we have, and here is our definitive list of the top 5 Bond cars.
1. ASTON MARTIN DB5
By far the most famous Bond car of them all, the Aston Martin DB5 simply oozes Britishness at every corner. Featured in Goldfinger, Thunderball, GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, Casino Royale, Skyfall and briefly in the new Spectre trailer, the DB5 is the most iconic of them all.
2. LOTUS ESPRIT S1
Making its appearance in The Spy Who Loved Me, the Lotus Esprit S1 became instantly famous, not only was its design hyper-modern, but it was British made and could turn into a submarine. With a host of gadgets, including a cement sprayer, Wet Nellie, as it was fondly referred to, has to be on the list.
3. AMC HORNET
One of the most outrageous vehicle stunts in cinema history was pulled off in The Man With The Golden Gun, whereby Roger Moore drives the AMC Hornet of a bridge in a spectacular 360-degree corkscrew. An infamous movie stunt, the AMC Hornet is iconic indeed.
4. JAGUAR XKR
When the Jaguar XKR hit the screens in Die Another Day, its outrageous modifications bemused and captivated everyone. Not only was it striking, and another British automobile powerhouse, but it marked the new age for Jaguar as a brand. We love it.
5. TOYOTA 2000GT
You Only Live Twice is one of the best Bond films of all time, and the Toyota 2000GT one of the most beautiful. Dubbed the Japanese E-Type, only two convertibles were ever made, making it one of the rarest cars in the world.
