The Apex Score is our own 0–100 rating, built for classic cars, that scores each one across seven factors into the Elite, Classic and Watch tiers.
The Apex Score is BookAclassic's own quality rating: a proprietary system, built specifically for classic and collectible cars, that gives every listing a single number from 0 to 100. Rather than a generic condition grade or a simple star average, it weighs a car's story, design, engineering and standing in the market together, so you get one consistent, purpose-built figure to compare very different classics at a glance.
What the Apex Score is
It's generated for every classic on the platform and rolls up seven separate factors, from a car's history and design to its rarity and momentum in the market, into that single number out of 100. Think of it as a quick, consistent way to gauge how remarkable a particular classic is before you dig into the details.

The 0–100 scale and its tiers
Scores run from 0 to 100 and fall into three named tiers, which is what the colour and label reflect:
- Elite (90 and above): the most exceptional, collectible classics on the platform.
- Classic (70–89): a genuinely desirable, characterful car that stands out.
- Watch (50–69): an interesting classic worth a closer look.
The seven scoring factors
The overall score is the sum of seven weighted factors. The first three carry the most weight:
- Significance & Story (up to 20): the car's heritage, provenance and place in history.
- Design & Presence (up to 20): its styling, proportions and visual impact.
- Engineering & Driving (up to 20): how it's built to drive and the experience behind the wheel.
- Build & Durability (up to 10): quality of construction and how well it holds up.
- Rarity & Spec (up to 10): how scarce the model and its particular specification are.
- Cultural Relevance (up to 10): its footprint in film, motorsport and popular culture.
- Market Momentum (up to 10): how the model is trending among collectors.
How the Standout badge is different
A 'Standout' badge appears on search result cards when the score is above 70.
Where you'll see it
You can open the full Apex Score on the car's detail page and in the BookAclassic mobile app. Tap it for the complete, interactive breakdown of all seven factors. In search, the highest scorers also carry the Standout badge, so the most remarkable classics are easy to spot at a glance.
For hosts: a car's Apex Score can also feed into the suggested pricing we show you when you set your rate. A stronger score points to stronger demand. It doesn't change how you list; see How to list your classic car.
