Editing your listing

How to open an existing listing to change its details, description, rates, rental types, mileage and rules, and when an edit goes back through review.

You can update a car you've already listed at any time. Open the Vehicles tab in your host dashboard, then choose the car you want to change to open its editor.

The editor is organised into sections so you can jump straight to what you want to change, rather than stepping through the whole listing wizard again.

What you can change

  • Car details: make, model, year, body style, colour, transmission, seats, fuel type and mileage on the clock.
  • Description: the car's story and history that renters read on the listing.
  • Photos: add, replace, remove and reorder photos, and choose the main photo (covered in Updating your photos and choosing the main photo).
  • Rates and rental types: turn self-drive, chauffeured and event hire on or off, and set the rate for each. Self-drive is priced per day. Chauffeured is priced by the hour, with an optional minimum booking price. Event hire is priced per day, with an optional hourly rate (capped at the daily rate) and an optional minimum booking price.
  • Minimum hire duration: for self-drive you can set the fewest days a renter can book; requests and quotes shorter than your minimum are blocked automatically.
  • Rules: mileage allowance and any per-mile overage rate, fuel and weather policy, and whether pets or decorations are allowed.
  • Security deposit: for US self-drive listings you can set a deposit (minimum the equivalent of $200).

The cancellation policy that applies to your bookings is set by BookAclassic across the platform, so it isn't edited per listing. See Host cancellation policy.

When an edit needs review

Small changes take effect right away. Larger changes to the parts renters rely on, such as the description, the car's history or your pickup instructions, are checked before they go live. While a change is being reviewed, your listing stays live with its previous details and your new version is applied once it's approved, so there's no gap where the car disappears.

Editing an existing car uses the same sections as the listing wizard. If you're creating a brand-new listing instead, see How to list your classic car.
