The host side of the booking flow: accepting or declining a request within 48 hours, how Instant Book arrives already confirmed, and where to find your trips and renter details.
When someone wants your car, you'll manage it all from the Bookings tab of your host dashboard. How a booking reaches you depends on whether your listing takes requests or uses Instant Book.
Booking requests: accepting or declining
A request arrives in your Bookings tab under In the works, and you're notified. You have up to 48 hours to respond (or until shortly before the trip is due to start, if that's sooner). The renter's card is already held when they request, so no one is charged until you decide.
- Accept: the payment is captured, the trip is confirmed, and it moves to your Confirmed list. The renter is notified.
- Decline: you pick a reason, the renter is notified, and the dates are freed on your calendar straight away.
- Let it expire: if you don't respond in time the request expires automatically, the hold on the renter's card is released, and your dates free up.
What changed: hosts now have up to 48 hours to respond to a request (the old platform quoted 24 hours).
Instant Book bookings
If you've turned on Instant Book for a car (for all dates or selected dates), qualifying bookings arrive already confirmed. There's no request to accept, because enabling Instant Book is your approval in advance. They appear directly in your Confirmed list once the renter has paid.
Finding your trips and renter details
The Bookings tab groups your trips so you can find them fast: In the works (requests to action), Confirmed (upcoming), Progress (currently out), Completed (past), and Other (cancelled, declined or expired). Open any booking to see its full detail.
On a booking's detail page you'll find the renter's name and profile, a Contact renter button that opens your in-app conversation, and the pickup/drop-off times and location (or the delivery address, if you're delivering). Keep all coordination in BookAclassic messages so it's on record. See Staying safe: keep payments and messages on BookAclassic.
